Our goal at Wenz is to offer you furniture that is unique, stylish, and comfortable. This means that when we select new items to bring onto our floor, the selection process is labor intensive. We take our time in picking out the right pieces for our customers, using our knowledge of furnishings, design, and changing trends.
Desiree is one of our designers at Wenz, and she is also the one in charge of selecting new furnishings for our showroom. She hand selects the styles, colors, fabrics, and features of the items that will be displayed on our floor.
Desiree says that when selecting a piece of furniture for the store, the piece has to “check a lot of boxes.” She doesn’t take any shortcuts when it comes to assessing the benefit that the piece would bring to the store and to our customers.
Desiree says her process “involves selecting furniture that I believe will offer our customers the most value. First, I ask myself, is it exciting to look at? Would our customers find it interesting? Secondly, I look at the price to make sure that it is a good value for the customer. Thirdly, I compare it with items already in our store as well as what’s out in the market to see if there is anything special or unique about it, if it is a good price point, if it offers better quality than a different piece, and how it fits with our store’s style.”
