Trouble Sleeping? The Right Mattress Can Help!

Waking up refreshed vs. waking up groggy can affect the trajectory of your entire day. When you sleep better, you’ll notice the improvement in your daily routine with increased energy and mental focus. As the colder weather moves in, snuggle under the covers in comfort and get your best sleep with a quality mattress from Wenz!

The root of your sleep issues can often be traced back to, you guessed it, your mattress! When it’s time for a new mattress, you need to do your homework and consider what you really want and need out of your mattress. It’s important to note that purchasing a new mattress is a very personal experience; one person’s luxury is another’s backache.

Here are some of the mattress options to choose from that might suit your comfort.

Memory Foam

Taken from Bernhardt

Does your partner toss and turn all night? Memory foam is the best on the market for motion isolation. I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials with the woman jumping on the memory foam with a stable wine glass on the other side of the bed. This demonstration shows how well memory foam can prevent disturbances.

Also, if you like the idea of your mattress hugging close to your body, the deep body contouring offered by memory foam may also make it a good fit.

Memory foam has the ability to evenly distribute weight, meaning it can help to relieve pressure points and reduce pain. It’s also an antimicrobial material, making it resistant to dust mites and mold; if you suffer with allergies, memory foam may also be a good choice for reducing the amount of allergens you’re exposed to.

However, this is not the mattress we would recommend first for a stomach sleeper. Memory foam would likely be your worst nightmare as it would allow your body to sink in too deep, arching your back unnaturally and allowing your pillow to smother you. Memory foam mattresses are best suited for side sleepers as it contours to your side and relieves pressure points.

Innerspring

Innerspring mattresses are one of the most popular. These mattresses are often best for offering support and bounce. There are a grand variety of innerspring mattresses to choose from with a full range of firmness options and pricing. Another plus is that they are easy to move.

However, innerspring mattresses don’t always have the best motion isolation, meaning that movements from yourself or your partner can cause disturbances in the night. If you or your partner are not light sleepers and this doesn’t pose an issue for you, this type of mattress may work just fine for you!

Just make sure to purchase an innerspring mattress that is high-quality and has enough coils and cushion; this will allow you to get the needed support to counteract pain and pressure points.

Hybrid

Taken from Bernhardt

Hybrid mattresses are for those who want the best of both worlds! They combine a core of innerspring coils, with a comfort layer of memory foam. These mattresses offer comfort and contouring with support and bounce. They also come in a variety of firmness levels.

Just be aware that getting the perfect combination of what you want in a mattress often comes at a higher cost. Although, if you’re going to put your money into anything, a great night’s sleep is absolutely worth investing in!
