It’s a common problem we have all dealt with at one time or another. You\u00a0decide to move your sofa to a new spot\u00a0and discover that the carpet is crushed down and dented where the sofa was. We have 3 easy solutions <\/span>for this problem!<\/span><\/p>\n

Ice Cubes<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Time to get our your ice trays and melt the dents out of your carpet! Sounds strange, doesn\u2019t it? But it actually does work! All you need to do is place an ice cube (or multiple, depending on the shape and size of the dent) on the indented area of your carpet and let it melt for a few hours \u2013 up to 12 hours for those deep, stubborn dents. <\/span><\/p>\n

Heavy furniture puts a lot of pressure on the carpet fibers, causing them to become compressed closer to the floor; the water makes the fibers expand as they absorb the water, helping to reverse this process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The last step is to blot the water with a sponge and use a coin or the edge of a spoon to lift up the affected carpet fibers!<\/span><\/p>\n

Blow Dryer<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Much as a blow dryer brings <\/span>volume of your hair, it can do the same for your carpet! All you need is a blow dryer and a spray bottle filled with water.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simply spritz enough water to saturate the affected carpet fibers and then blow dry them. As they dry, fluff up the fibers with your fingers or a spoon and voila! Dents <\/span>be gone!<\/span><\/p>\n

Damp Towel<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

When you\u2019re struggling with deeper divots, a damp towel is often the best solution.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step one, place a damp <\/span>dish cloth or towel directly over the area. Step <\/span>two, set <\/span>an iron on medium heat and gently run over the towel for 30 seconds to a minute. Do NOT touch the carpet directly, as the iron could burn it. Step 3, remove the towel and either vacuum or fluff up the carpet fibers by hand. That\u2019s it!<\/span><\/p>\n
