Choosing Colors for Your Home

There are seven different elements of design that come into play when constructing a new design for your home. One of the most noticeable is color. It isn’t always easy to pick the perfect colors for your home, and that’s where our designers come in!

Why is color important?

Taken from Bernhardt

Color is one of the top design elements that determine the mood of a room. When you walk in do you feel warm and cozy? A cool and calm feeling? Or maybe energy and excitement?

These sensations can all be triggered by color. This is why certain colors are best suited for certain rooms in your home.

For example, soft neutrals are best for your bedroom as they are the least stimulating and encourage deep sleep, whereas brighter colors can be used in rooms where you’re looking to stimulate energy and excitement.

Our designers know color like the back of their hand

Our designers have all stated that color is one of their favorite design elements to work with. Picking out fabrics with dramatic colors and designs is such a fun part of the job, and they know how to select flattering color combinations that will compliment your home. They are also aware of recent color trends and how they might be incorporated into your home!

Mike, one of our designers at Wenz, is an expert in how colors work together and affect the mood of a room. He can help you choose the right colors and fabrics to create your desired atmosphere for every room of your home.

For example, if you want to create more energy in your living room, Mike might suggest a light, neutral color scheme with pops of blue. Blue is a calm color that will allow for relaxation, but in small doses will draw the eye and create a more dynamic and interesting design. You get the best of both worlds!

Whether you’re building, remodeling, or just looking to make an update to your home, we can help you choose the right colors to compliment your space.
